This lingerie getup reminds me so much of a comic book superhero villain that I went down a rabbit hole for this lesson to read about the history of DC and Marvel comics. It's hard to boil down nearly 200-years worth of origin story for comic books as a medium, but this one lesson stuck with me:
A guy named Martin Goodman launched a then-little-known-publication called "Timely Comics" in 1939. While publishing wasn't new to Goodman, comics were a new art form, as were the idea of superheros/villains. He published "Marvel Comics #1" the same year and it became hugely popular overnight.
Needing more hands on deck, he hired his wife's 16 year old cousin as an office assistant. That office assistant, Stanley Lieber, went on to help out with editing, writing, and predominant creative leader in American comics under his writing pseudonym, Stan Lee, creating characters like Spiderman, The X-Men, The Hulk, Black Widow, etc.
Well, it's not as fun when it's not a live-streamed birthday bash, but I thought you might not say no to seeing a video of me using it when it first arrived.
As part of my series on historical sex toys, I'll talk about the history of sex positions and furniture (Kama sutra, the King of England's "seat of love" in Paris, all the way to modern sex machines) but for now just enjoy the view.
This is a modern fucking machine (that is apparently the actual technical term, not just slang) made by Hismith. It's heavy-duty and can accommodate all kinds of dildos for all kinds of play.
This was my legitimate first time ever trying something like this - watch me set it up and try out different positions, thrust lengths and speed. 💋🥵
Grass skirts became popular during the vaudeville era as Pacific Islanders began performing in the vaudeville circuit on US mainland. the fresh leaves they would typically be made with weren’t available so grass was used. they became especially popular after WW2 with the rise in Tiki culture as (an Americanized and inaccurate) symbol of the allure of the South Pacific. 🗿🌺🌊
Herman Melville's Moby-Dick was written (all 600+ pages of it) way back in the 1850s and told the tale of a sailor chasing after an infamous whale for revenge. It fell flat at the time but is since regarded as a piece of classic American literature.
Moby-Dick was inspired by a real-life whale, Mocha Dick. The name comes from Mocha Island, off the coast of Chile, followed by how you'd refer to a male stranger (think "like any Tom, Dick or Harry.") and in this case, Dick was the name chosen.
It doesn't have anything to do with the part of your body that'll be hard from watching the video I made after I took off this costume, but it's a fun play on words and I figured you'd enjoy it too. 💋
I'm wearing a vintage replica costume (likely made in the 1950s) that was intended to look like what sailors wore around the time Moby Dick was published up until about 1910.

Found a few outtakes that were on the cutting room floor and I thought you wouldn’t mind seeing them 💋
The term “cutting room floor” refers to a time when to edit films you’d need to manually cut the film and splice it together with the next section of film. 🎥
It’s summertime! Schools out (except for my summer school history lessons for you!) and in a few short day its July 4th!
Are you more a casual observer with some tequila sodas stocked in the fridge and maybe some sparklers kind of vibe, or are you and your pet bald eagle launching fireworks in your back yard tomorrow?
Okay and for the rest of you, how much are you getting a kick at our level of nationalism? A lot of you are from across the pond and I’m mildly worried The King of England is going to show up with a velvet robe and crown and scepter and tell us to KEEP IT DOWN OVER THERE WILL YOU???
The 1970s saw a big resurgence in 1920s aesthetic, and a prime example of this is the musical Chicago. Written by the legendary jazz choreographer & dancer extraordinaire Bob Fosse, it details flapper women imprisoned but having celebrity status as a result.
The show is known for its catchy jazz tunes and fringed, beaded, glittering flapper costumes which dazzled the stage becoming the pattern for what is instantly recognizable today as “flapper dress.”
While the originals of musicals are often the best version, I actually really love the 2002 film which is fantastic.
I’m wearing a 1979s handmade costume flapper dress from a now-defunct old New Orleans costume shop which was run by the son of a very famous Los Angeles costume shop that did the costumes for some of Hollywood’s most famous classic movies. 🎥 🍿 🎶
While we’re enjoying our summer of hedonistic pleasures, here’s another: if I had to present to you (in a perfectly compiled Excel database utilizing macros to crunch the data for me accompanied by a well-presented slide deck outlining my methodology for data collection) the number of questions I receive about how my nipples stay so erect I’d say I’d actually be putting my MBA to good use.
The answer is more boring than the actual data collection: they just, um, do that.
(Jokes aside, my MBA has come in handy for learning how to run a successful business on more than one occasion and certainly includes this platform 🤓)
💋 The French Way: Part 5 in the Historical Sex Toy Series 💋
The story starts following WW2 after GI's came home from Normandy with tales of battlefield and of mademoiselle's tongues. It travels back in time past the cabarets and courtesans of the Moulin Rouge, passing by the Court of Catherine de Medici and her wild French court's sexual antics, and (as all roads lead to Rome) back to ancient times.
💋 The tale ends with my first time simulating oral sex on a dildo. That part's in your inboxes. Cum check it out and let me know what you think! 💋
I mean, if a waterfall stone shower sitting above historic grounds in a perpetually sultry city doesn’t make you want to get it on then maybe these photos will.
Nowadays the term "burlesque" evokes an image of an elaborate striptease stage act with any kind of theme or costume, but burlesque was traditionally a group of performers that included comedy and stage performances that were intended to be "intentionally ridiculous...and absurd" and considered theater.
Between the 1830s-1900s, burlesque troupes would travel and perform as musical comedy ultimately ending with a striptease or nudity element to it, generally by an attractive woman in the group and showing off a little leg. They were hugely popular across Europe and spread to the United States. Up until about World War 1, seeing a burlesque show was considered family-friendly.
Leading into the early 1920s, the popularity of a woman performing with a sexual element to it was (unsurprisingly) in high demand (Ziegfeld Follies, with their beautiful chorus girls in intricate costumes, became in high demand).
Shows generally evolved to have low-brow comedy by a male comedian to open the show (Abbott & Costello performed in a burlesque troupe!), followed by several sexually suggestive performances of beautiful women in intricate costumes, dancing to a live band, ending with a striptease.
Of course, they were massively popular with male audiences but, by the 1930s the combination of the Great Depression, impending war, a demand for traditional family values resulted in burlesque falling out of popularity until the rise of huge burlesque stars in the following generations.
A vintage, handmade genie costume, probably used for Mardi Gras celebrations. 💚
I Dream of Jeannie (a play on "Genie") was a popular sitcom from 1965-1970 featuring a 2,000-year-old genie and an astronaut (I mean c'mon, it's the middle of the space race, of course he's an astronaut).
A fun video conversing with you on the history of women's body hair, from seashell razors to Sophia Loren's famous armpits and everything in between.
Inspired by growing out my underarm hair and bush (a bit, anyway) I ended the lesson with a striptease showing off all my hair.
The rest of the video of me leaning into this hair fetish and ending with riding a dildo on my hands and knees while showing off all my new hair is in your inboxes 💋
The association of white with purity and virginity arguably has some ties to antiquity: the Greeks followed a wedding practice of women donning white for bridal ceremonies, and they weren’t the only culture.
But looking more globally, brides and wedding parties wore all kinds of colors that still represented purity.
The iconic white, intricate gowns of weddings today are more closely linked to Queen Victoria who, at the time, was an international style icon (or as much as one could be in the 1800s). At the time, white garments were a social status: they were made of superior materials and a result expensive.
Even more than that, they could afford to wear something that couldn’t be easily cleaned, especially in hot summer months.
The sundress: popularized in 1940 with form fitting designs that flared out and flowed with bold prints on them. They grew in popularity in the 1950s and by the 1960s were considered a staple for your closet.
The point of a sundress was exactly as it sounds - to create a lightweight, sexy dress that could be worn comfortably in warm temperatures. There's a lot of styles but they pretty typically have a bodice, thin straps, are lightweight and worn without any other layers or coverings.
The one I'm wearing is just a loose lingerie-style take on it with matching panties. 🌸

What everyone thinks a running shop is like after hours.
I mean, I guess it is kind of like this just with more sweeping and mopping and tidying and hoping the ghosts that the neighboring shop swears exist don’t make themselves known 😅
In just a few hours from this post going live, the planets will be aligning into what headlines are calling "the planetary parade."
A rare event, the other 7 (sorry, Pluto) planets in our solar system will be appear to be lined up. Getty Images has a nice graphic that I can't share here, but it's a cool visual. From left to right, Jupiter, Mercury, Uranus, Mars, Neptune & Saturn will appear from left to right if you look towards the Eastern sky just before sunrise in USA time.
In reality, the planets aren't actually aligned in orbit - they just appear that way from our perspective. It's not uncommon for 2-4 of the planets to be briefly aligned as they orbit the sun, but for all 8 planets to be aligned is super rare and, from Earth's perspective, you wouldn't be able to see it because we'd also be in the single-file line of planets.
So, being able to observe the planets lined up in front of us is kind of cooler than an actual planetary alignment, even if it's less rare. 🪐

Summer vacation: a concept that developed around the mid 19th century. At the time, schools were mostly independently operated, with a summer and winter session. As education became more standardized into the 20th century, it was found that during the summer it was difficult to keep students cool in school buildings, and families from hotter climates migrated to areas with cooler temperatures. As a result, a standard summer vacation was created.
