Being able to get your leg up is essential to most fighting sports!!
A good way to get your leg up is to remember to get your knee as high as possible because you extend your kick out from the knee. If you want to kick high enough make sure you get your knee up as high as you can and extend your leg out where ever your knee goes your leg is bound to follow. πππΌ

Another angle of the reverse elbow strike
π₯To generate even more power and strength when you land the strike with your elbow you need to essentially dig down into the ground with your feet and make sure your stance is planted strong, make sure you torque through your hip and through your core into your elbow to get a stronger hit.

When executing a kick in any sport weather it be kick boxing, MuayThai, or any other sport to avoid injury while kicking it is super imperative that you learn to kick with the correct parts of the foot. First of course you need to make sure your guard is up and youβre pivoting properly to avoid getting hurt and especially injuring the knee.
You should be kicking with either:
-The top of the foot
-The blade of the foot
-The inside blade of foot (reverse blade)
-The heel
-The bottom of the foot
***Avoid kicking your target or opponent with your toes first as you could break bones in your toes or foot and could encounter severe bruising or injury as well.*** This requires a lot of practice/patients but no worries practice makes perfect and anyone who is willing can get it down!! π₯π―

In this technique, (reverse elbow strike) you will need to make sure that you lift your arm up and bring your elbow towards your target in a backwards motion in order to strike. This is especially effective if your attacker decided to grab you from the back or decides to hold your shoulders down, you will then thrust your elbow backwards into their face/jaw (like in this photo) or the stomach, throat, or ribs. You will need to use the tricep side of your elbow as your striking point to impact your opponent the most.

To avoid injuries while executing a punch make sure you properly place your thumb over your middle finger to make a proper fist. In order for you to make the perfect fist, close your hand tightly and make sure your thumb is on top of your other 4 fingers. Place the thumb on top of the middle knuckle and squeeze super firmly so youβre able to maintain your strong grip and avoid injuring your hand at all with your punch.
