I left my hat on the shore like I left my inn ocence…
Soft, delicate, dripping.
Waves kissed it over and over,
pulling at the edges like they knew how to unravel me.
Sunlight hit just right,
making everything glisten
even the places most people miss
unless they’re really paying attention.
I get a little wet, a little wild,
when I know someone’s watching.
And this?
This is just the beginning of what I leave behind
when I finally let go.
